Slippers

This is going to sound weird.

And I don’t want to make a big deal of it, but whenever I go to put my house shoes on, I hesitate a bit.

It’s because I know one day there’s going to be something inside.

You see, its so easy for a bug or something to slip right into your shoes. And think about it, you wear house shoes less often–more time for something to make a home in your shoe.

My house shoes just sit there, a snug, furry den for a creature to fit into.

Last night, I got up to pee and I was going to put my foot in my slippers when I had a sudden vision of a spider waiting at the very end of the shoe.

It was black and so tightly fit, it didn’t have space for webs. It just clung to the fur of the shoes, waiting for my fleshy toes to enter its domain.

I went to the restroom barefooted.

Ridiculous right?

But I keep looking at the house shoes and it freaks me out. I know i’m mostly likely not going to find anything there.

One time, I put my foot in and felt something slid right across my toes. I yelled and yanked my foot out, and when I looked inside, I saw stray fabric.

That’s all it was but…I keep getting this feeling. The longer I wait, the more likely the chances go up. It isn’t impossible, its improbable.

That means, one day, you’ll put your foot inside your slipper or shoe, and something, some wicked little thing, will be waiting for you.

  1. I’m so relieved that I’m not the only one πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I do the same thing! Especially that shoes are not exactly inside the house. Once, I found a beetle beside my shoe *shudder*
